Featured Art Exhibits:

Third Space (2051 Market St): We are a “third space” - a community that’s not home (first space) or work (second space). We were born out of a need for connection, and we use art as a vehicle for conversation. We serve as a neutral ground for drastically different sides of the Bay Area to hang, talk, and understand one another. We're a place for everyone to come and be exactly who they are - no judgment, no strings attached, no boxes to check, no fees. Here’s to a more empathetic convergence of worlds.

Schlomer Haus Gallery (2128 Market St): We’re hosting an opening reception Friday, July 7th from 5-9PM for Rakeem Cunningham's "Black Chrysalis." The artist will be in attendance.

MAG Galleries (3931 18th St): OUTSIDE THE LINES: Paintings by Scott R. Holloway

Join us for Libations and Live Music

The two, self-portrait paintings on the invitation of OUTSIDE THE LINES are bookends to a life expressed through painting.  The first, painted in 1974, depicts the headless torso, with the taut, muscular balance of the youthful, body beautiful.  The second painting incorporates a word map of a body wracked with pain and the loss of control of his arms and hands as a result of Parkinson’s disease.  Holloway has said of his expressions, “Art acted as both a witness and an activator, an active map and a mirror.”  OUTSIDE THE LINES, Painting by Scott R. Holloway, through 07/30.

Harvey Milk Center for the Arts & Photo Center (50 Scott St): soft defiance is a collaboratively-curated visual arts exhibition led by Harvey Milk Center for the Arts and Photo Center, queer arts organization Diamond Wave, and LGBTQIA+ mental health service provider Queer LifeSpace. Resisting negativity and hatred is a constant uphill battle for many historically marginalized queer and trans communities that requires a firm commitment to centering one’s own mental health and wellness. soft defiance is a celebration of this commitment to our sustained emotional and spiritual well-being. soft defiance exhibits 35 Bay Area artists.

Art House SF (2324 B Market St): For our current exhibit, we are featuring artists from different countries, different continents, different styles and mediums.  They present a totally unique artistic vision.  Their artwork is deeply rooted in their local culture and experience, yet understood globally through the power of art, the world's most universal language.

The exhibit is on display until the end of July.

Welcome Castro (525 Castro St): Raymundo Valdez is a listed fine artist born and raised in Mexico City. He started his art studies as early as 6 years old in private art schools in Mexico City but is primarily self-taught. More than 17 years ago he immigrated to the United States and has been working on his art in San Francisco and Palm Springs. He has experimented with pastel, watercolor, and gouache, but his preferred medium is oil on canvas.

2358 MRKT (2358 Market St): Cool Summer Vibes featuring multiple artists and a color palette to cool your summer. The opening reception will be from 5-10 PM.

… and more!

See all of you tonight!
